And you can pre-order both right now

Even though first-party support for the Wii U came to a halt a number of years ago, that hasn't stopped third-party developers and publishers from pumping out new releases for Nintendo's previous generation of console hardware. PixelHeart – a publisher and distributor of retro and next-generation games – has just put up pre-orders for two new Wii U physical releases.

The first is a hard-copy of the SHMUP Collection (containing Satazius Next and Armed 7 DX, and due out on 15th May 2020) and the other one is Finding Teddy II: Definitive Edition (arriving 17th April 2020). As noted by DualShocker, both of these releases are the European versions, so you'll need to have access to a system from this region in order to play them.

Both games cost €29,90 and are limited to 3,000 units each. If you're not interested in owning these titles on Wii U, there's always the option to purchase them on the Switch as well for the same price. Could these be the very last physical Wii U games ever released? Tell us what you think below and if you would be interested in adding either or both of these titles to your physical collection.

It's crazy to think that the Wii U would've been on its seventh year in the market if it continued to be successful. It's great to see that some publishers and developers are still releasing games for the Wii U, hopefully it retains a dedicated community like the Dreamcast.

I remember the Wii U days, but now I switched over. If I did get anything new for the U, would probably be a drawing game.

Tempted to import Finding Teddy 2, if only to be one step closer to putting my Wii U away forever.

I think I'm probably the only one who really cares about this or anything good related to the Wii U...and I'm perfectly okay with that. No joke! I freaking love this console!

Shame it's for Europe only but good for anyone able to play or collect these games I guess. Wii U could have been more than it was so it's nice to see some oddball releases in 2020

Just when you thought the wii u was dead and buried it's still hanging in there. See guys as long as people are playing it you can't say it's done. Now stop picking on the 3DS!

@Heavyarms55

Considering they are limited to 3000 copies. Ima guess that yes, they will probably only sell a few thousand copies.

Observant fellow arent we...

This is really good news. I'm not interested in the games themselves, as I don't know anything about them, but a new Wii U release and physical on top of that is a novelty.

Good, some WiiU love. One of the best consoles I've ever had, might grab those at some point.

Are these games already available on the Wii U eShop or are they exclusive to these limited physical copies?

  • SKTTR

@Dogorilla There's a different version of Finding Teddy II - Definitive Edition on the Wii U eShop called Chronicles of Teddy: Harmony of Exidus.

I always wondered why this wasn't ported to Switch. Other Wii U metroidvanias like Elliot Quest, Axiom Verge, or Guacamelee all made the jump. Now we have the answer, they ported it to Wii U, again, under a different name, as a definitive edition.

@NSega64 you're not the only one. In my opinion, it's the best console Nintendo ever made. We have three of them.

It will always amuse and amaze me every time someone like 2K makes a big deal out of bringing 360 games to the Switch. I understand the numbers game, but cannot help be think "Yeah, that would have run on the Wii U, if you had bothered."

Just wish that publishers like this could have more regularly punched above their weight, or that Nintendo would have pushed a little harder like they did in the Gamecube Era to publish titles on behalf of third parties.

Is nobody going to mention the fact that these are not great games. They don't come close to showing off the systems ability. It's cool they are preserving the games with a physical copy but it seems like a cash grab.
